About me

I have experienced firsthand how important it is to be able to speak a second language. This is why I am passionate about languages, and I would like to share my enthusiasm with others.

I was the Spanish teacher at Shield Road Primary School and created after-school Spanish clubs at Horfield, Shield Road, and Colston's Primary School.

I have offered Spanish to Snapdragons Nursery in Horfield, and I founded a Spanish School for various ages on Saturday mornings.

My name is Natalia Lyes, and I founded Pasitos Spanish for Your Children. I am a native Spanish speaker from Ecuador but have lived in the UK for the past 27 years. I created Pasitos in 2013 as a necessity to teach my own children. Very soon, I found myself doing a Master's degree at the Univerity of Barcelona. I wanted to learn a better method and teach Spanish to all the children in my community.

I have lots of experience working with children of all ages. I have two young children of my own, and we live in a bilingual household. I was in charge of running La Casita for 3 years; this is the only stay-and-play group for Spanish-speaking mums and children in Bristol.

I was a radio producer and presenter in the only Spanish-language radio show in Bristol, 'La Ventana Latina' at BCFM.

I have helped children to prepare for their GCSE Spanish examinations.

I currently working as a Mental Health support teacher in my local secondary school in Bristol.

Pasitos has been a finalist in the 2017 HoopApp awards.
